I call all of the pictures on this page "Artography". The images are perceived rather than taken and represent various techniques performed in pre-computer days. Girl in a fire. The girl's figure is simple enough but the background is a log burning in my fireplace. Both images superimposed on each other and rephotgraphed. Nude in the woods. Fish-eye lens shooting from the waiste up superimposed with wooded scene and then re-photographed on infra-red film. Amish countryside. Background and foreground are separate images. Farmer on wagon is third, colors added are four. Negatives sandwiched and rephotographed. Straight shot using extensions on a 200 mm lens resulting in 800 mm's. Printed underexposed. Girl's face superimposed over fish-eye of NYC. Gisela on infra-red film. Girl's face superimposed with burning logs. Flip-flopped image of head re-photographed on 3M Color Key film. Head shot superimposed with flower stamen. Stoneface. This is one of the few images I like shown "as is". No double images or superimposed screen. I guess the key here is "exposure". "Uncle Phil" on infra-red film. Suzanne Johnson. 3M Color Key Film. Three color layers. Alex. 3M Color Key Film. Two layers. This image was created for a Manfred Mann Earth Band LP. Image was photographed on infra-red film, and then a duplicated negative made and reversed for bottom of the image. Variations on "Two Faces". The original image (lower right) was created from two transparencies, sandwiched and then rephotographed on negativefilm. The grouping of the four images was done in "Photoshop" electing "variations" and then grouping the three variations with original on a "new" 8 x 10 page. Mountains. Forest scene transparency sandwiched with nude. Rephotographed on negative film. Rowboat originally photographed on infra-red film. Duplicate greyscale negative printed as a positive transparency and offset with original. Roseface. Used for a Donald Byrd LP cover. Girl's head superimposed with rose. |
